These creators are rolling up their sleeves and getting involved – using the resources they have at hand, as well as their individual skill sets, to raise money for causes they believe in. By using their platform to advocate for social change, they are paving the way for others to do the same. Let’s take a look at how these creators are utilizing Bonfire to help them make a difference.
Olivia Winokur (she/her) – Inclusive Outdoors Campaign
Olivia, a Sacramento, CA based artist, created the Inclusive Outdoors campaign to fundraise for GOALS (Girls’ Outdoor Adventure in Leadership and Science). Areej Khan (she/her) – Say Gay Okay Campaign
Areej created the Say Gay Okay Bonfire campaign in response to the “Don’t Say Gay” bill that was passed by the Florida Senate on March 8th, 2022. This bill bans “classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary schools”. Areej believes in creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth to explore and express their identities in schools.
All proceeds raised from this campaign will go directly to Equality Florida Institute and will work to combat this bill. The bold and bright font used in the design for this campaign was created by Type With Pride in honor of Gilbert Baker, the activist and artist who was the creator of the iconic Rainbow Flag.
